November 3rd - Zero Tax Increase Income Tax Issue 23

Greeneview Schools are on the November 3, 2020 ballot for zero tax increase of a 0.5% income tax levy.

How Much Will Taxes Increase?

This ballot issue, if passed, will result in a zero tax increase for residents.

How much will this levy generate?

  • This 0.5% income tax represents 7.75% of the district's operating budget and generates approximately $1,000,000 per year.

  • Local support and revenue is vital as State and Federal funding face additional challenges at this time.

What will this levy be used for?

  • This revenue will help fund the day-to-day operations of our schools, such as staff, technology, utilities, curriculum and classroom supplies.

Why is it shifting from 5-year term to continuous?

  • It is a zero increase for residents because it is a renewal of a 1/2% income tax that expires at the end of 2021.

  • Tax payers approved the original levy in 2001 and have renewed the levy 3 times in 2006, 2010, and 2015.

  • This continuing levy will allow for uninterrupted funding for our schools at the current revenue levels.
